Celebrating 30 Years and 30,000 Surgeries

In the fall of 2007, CVTSA surgeons performed the 30,000 heart surgery at Inova Fairfax Hospital. This remarkable milestone occured as CVTSA celebrated it's 30th anniversary as a surgery practice.

 

Since 1977, CVTSA surgeons have performed heart surgery on more than 30,000 adult and pediatric patients. During this time, we’ve had the opportunity to pioneer many new treatment and recovery approaches to ensure that we always provide patients with the safest, most efficient care possible.

 

Some of our milestones include performing many “firsts” in the Washington, DC metropolitan area such as the first:
